HTML5 is the next major milestone in HTML and it is not just another incremental enhancement; it represents an enormous advance for modern web applications. HTML5 is such a big step forward that it prompted Vic Gundotra, VP of Engineering at Google, to say “The web has not seen this level of transformation, this level of acceleration, in the past ten years… we're betting big on HTML5.”

A large number of features are already supported in browsers, so it is time to start using it!

This HTML5 training course is divided into two training modules. In the first HTML 5 module you will learn how to create HTML5 web pages and web applications using HTML5 markup and HTML5 JavaScript APIs. In the second HTML 5 module that is a highly practical about HTML5 Communication for real-time web applications, using HTML5 WebSocket, Server-Sent Events, Cross-Document Messaging, and XMLHttpRequest Level 2. This course will teach you how to create next generation HTML5 web applications.

With these new standards, the browser can now enjoy the first-class citizenry of network communication that has long been enjoyed by desktop applications. You will learn how to use the emerging standards to build scalable, mission critical real-time Web 2.0 applications such as:

  • Trading System Clients
  • Online Betting Applications
  • Social Chat Solutions
  • Performance Monitoring Applications
  • RFID and GPS Tracking Applications

Flex 4 SDK e Flash Builder - Developing Rich Internet Applications with the new Flex 4 SDK

DATE:

London 8 November 2010
Milan 15 November 2010
Rome 22 November 2010

HOUR:

4 consecutive lessons from Monday to Thursday. Each lesson has a duration of 6 hours and takes place during the hours between 9.30 and 16.30 (with a 1 hour break for lunch)

INFO

User interface design with Adobe Flash Catalyst

London 3 November 2010
Milan 29 November 2010
Rome 13 December 2010

HOUR:

3 consecutive lessons. Each lesson has a duration of 6 hours and takes place between 9:30am and 16:30pm (with a break of 1 hour for lunch)

The available version nowadays is a Beta, but still we can use many functionalities and it is possible to import Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator layouts to work with. Adobe Flash Catalyst allows designers and developers to cooperate on Rich Interactive Application projects working at the same time, with this tool it is even possible to create prototype to work with before the final deploy, so that a client can see interactive storyboard of the application and not only static images. Rapidly a designer can create an SWF file to show the interface with transitions and effects, meanwhile the developers can integrate the Flash Catalyst Project importing a file into Flex Gumbo and add new functionalities.

Layout and User interface design with Flex 4 and Adobe AIR

DATE:

To be defined

HOUR:

3 consecutive lessons. Each lesson has a duration of 6 hours and takes place between 9:30am and 16:30pm (with a break of 1 hour for lunch)

INFO

With Flex and AIR an important revolution broke in the development on web, desktop and web applications. Before there were limits bounded to HTML language and layout concept of "One click, One page", afterwards we eventually use the One Page concept: the whole application is usable in a single page. The customer, though status usage, transitions and effects, interacts with page content, which uploads data and changes its interface elements by asynchronic means in order to react on customer inputs. This revolution calls for mayor confrontations between designers and developers.

Developing desktop applications with Adobe AIR: Flex Builder 3, Flash CS3 and Ajax

DATE:

To be defined

HOUR:

4 consecutive lessons. Each lesson has a duration of 6 hours and takes place between 9:30am and 16:30pm (with a break of 1 hour for lunch)

INFO

Adobe AIR is a multi-platform runtime system that Adobe is developing and that allows developers to use their web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax) to create and distribute Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) on the desktop. Web applications have transformed with time from simple web sites to more complex applications which have started to bring the development limitations of the browser to light. The web browser was originally thought of to display a document based on HTML language. For this reason, now that more and more applications, which function as true desktop software, are released on the web, a series of problems, linked to their deployment via the web browsers, arise.

With ActionScript 3, the language reaches a full maturity notably increasing the performance and the ease of the development of contents and applications used with Flash Player 10.

Flex 4 Upgrade - Migrating from Flex 3 to Flex 4 and Flash Builder 4

DATE:

to be defined

HOUR:

2 consecutive lessons from Monday to Thursday. Each lesson has a duration of 6 hours and takes place during the hours between 9.30 and 16.30 (with a 1 hour break for lunch)

INFO

Flex 4 is not only the new update to SDKs, but it is also bona fide revolution compared to the previous version. As well as the new Flash Builder 4 (the new version of the Flex Builder development environment), the SDKs introduce important changes that seriously involve the architecture of the Flex 3 application. In fact, you may encounter various sorts of problems and errors during compilation of an old Flex 3 project with the new Flex 4 SDKs, involving the following areas:

Namespaces, Declarations, Default properties for custom components, Loading SWF files, Charting, States, HTML wrapper, Layouts, Binding, Filters, Component rendering, Styles, and Fonts. For example, if your architecture uses references to the properties of components via the Application.application expression, you may even end up with an application that doesn't work anymore.

This is why we have conceived this module as an accellerated  course, instead of having to attend the course Developing RIAs with Flex 4 SDK  and Flash Builder 4, specifically aimed at those professionals that already know the old Flex 3 SDK environment and ActionScript, and that want to learn about the changes brought on with the new version of the Flex 4 SDKs and Flash Builder 4.
